Well, any hope I had that Nastia actually meant it when she said she was really gunning for 2012 have begun to die. This Tweet today confirmed my fears:

It's kind of hard to train if she's not going to be home, since her gym is in Plano.
I know it was probably foolish to get my hopes up. But she messed with my head! How dare she behave as a young adult and have a fulfilling life outside of gymnastics! What about my needs? What about ME!!??
I guess she could come out and say that she's going to start seriously training in the fall, but is that really enough time to get in shape for Nationals or Worlds in 2011? She hasn't been seriously training since last summer, and even then, she was only really in the gym when her hectic schedule allowed for it.
I know she told her people that if they need her to travel, it has to be this year, because next year is all about gymnastics. But I just don't see her being ready if she's going to take the summer off. And I don't think that's something she's unaware of--she's a smart girl. You know what, though? Prove me wrong, Nast. I will gladly eat my words, even without ketchup. And I really love ketchup on my words.
I don't know. I want her to be happy and successful in any endeavor she chooses to pursue, but stop toying with my emotions, woman! You are, or you aren't, and either way is fine, but please don't break our hearts again. I'm itching for a really great American bars routine, and when you wave a comeback in my face and then snatch it away...well, it hurts, Nast. It hurts.

What are the chances of her training at UCLA this summer? I know she has her camp, but maybe, just for funsies, Miss Val gets all Mr Miyagi on her and teaches her a whole bunch of new stuff. Or old stuff, I'm not even picky.
