Shawn Johnson wants to make damn sure we all know...

...that she was invited to go on the Chicago 2016 Bid trip. It's crucial that no one think she was simply left out.

ShawneyJJust want to say good luck to the team going over to Europe for the 2016 bid! I was so bummed when I had to turn down the offer to go but...

ShawneyJI'm so excited for the ones going because it's going to be an experience of a lifetime :) Chicago... I'll keep my fingers crossed <3

Poor Shawn. Translation: "I'm still relevant! Gymnastics still loves me! You will all love me, too!"

You'd be right, Shawn. We do still love you, and we don't think you're irrelevant. Now get your ass back in the gym and give us some flippy-floppies. Stat.

  1. Thank You for posting this! LOL...I read her twitter and couldn't help roll my eyes. Was there a need for her to point that out? No but she can't have people think she "doesn't matter"...ugh... I'm over her, she was so my favorite but lately I wouldn't care if she goes 100% Hollywood and forgets about the gym.

  2. LOL. I think it's a bit of teenage stuff. She's sweet, but the thought of having people believe Nastia was chosen over her is probably about as appealing as having nails driven into her eyeballs. It's pretty transparent, but not unexpected from a kid her age. I cracked up laughing at work - I'm sure my boss was like, WTF?

  3. This made me laugh too.. Exactly what I would have done at 16.. and probably would have thought I was being sneaky about it.

  4. That's okay, because Nastia posted a new blog yesterday with this quote:

"I’m off to Copenhagen today for the decision of the 2016 Olympic Games! I was SO honored when I was asked to be part of the team to travel to Denmark!"

Translation: "I was asked, too! I didn't approach them - THEY approached ME!"

I don't think I'm reading too much into this, either. It wasn't that long ago that I, too, was a teenage girl. I know how they roll.
